Djokovic, playing his first match since he won the Australian Open title in January, registered a 7-6 (7/5), 6-2 victory over Bjorn Fratangelo to reach the second round; Mexican Open winner Nick Kyrgios lost to Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4, 6-4.
